Love served on the city council for 20 years and was active in several community events and activities. Brandenburg Telephone provided the site to host the wall which proved to be perfect for the display. Meade County Chamber of Commerce was also recognized for the positive impact of the veteran banners has had throughout the community.<\/p>\n<p>In other business, the council approved resolutions for grant funding from Lincoln Trail Area Development District related to several for several city projects. The first resolution was for the city to apply for $530,084 of matching grant funds for the Mooreman Road water tower project. The second resolution allow the city to accept grant funding in the amount of $112,752 for the Old Ekron Road waterline project. The third resolution $3688 water treatment upgrade and the well. The fourth resolution was a grant funding $500,000 for the waste water treatment plant upgrades and meters.<\/p>\n<p>The council also discussed recent flooding that occurred in the city. Council members heard from resident along School Side Drive about ongoing issues with drainage and who asked the city to assist with what can be done for minor rainfall that prompts flooding in their neighborhood. Mayor David Pace said the city is working the County Emergency Management and the state to look at further flooding prevention since the recent flooding in the past couple of weeks caused flooding in areas that normally doesn&#8217;t flood.
