\nOne person is injured following an officer-involved shooting in Downtown Louisville Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

Louisville Metro Police Department said officers responded to a break-in in progress in the 700 block of South 5th street.<\/p>\n

The department said when police were on scene, two suspects attempted to flee on foot.<\/p>\n

One suspect was arrested, the other suspect continued to flee.<\/p>\n

Police say the fleeing suspect had a gun, and would not drop the gun, after police ordered the suspect to do so.<\/p>\n

One officer shot the suspect and the suspect was taken to UofL hospital with non-life threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

LMPD Assistant Chief Brian Kuriger said the suspect\u2019s gun was recovered from the scene.<\/p>\n

Louisville Metro Police Department is asking any witnesses to contact police with information by calling the tip line at 574-LMPD or online at their Crime Tip Portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The name of the officer involved will be released in 3 days, and the body camera video of the shooting will release within 10 business days.
