Christina Hargrove is in custody and facing charges of two counts of second degree arson and eight counts of wanton endangerment as a result of the fires.<\/p>\n
Crews were dispatched to the 200 block of Ottawa Avenue just after 8 p.m. and arrived to find several detached garages actively burning along with multiple trash fires in the area.<\/p>\n
The first responding crews requested additional resources due to the extent of the scene.<\/p>\n
Crews worked quickly to get the multiple blazes under control and residents assisted by pointing out several other smaller fires.<\/p>\n
Five engine companies, two truck companies, a battalion chief and a total of 32 firefighters worked to get the fires under control in about an hour. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
Multiple witnesses reported suspicious activity in the area, leading to arson investigators being called to the scene. Officials said Hargrove was observed on video allegedly setting two garages on fire and six other small fires.<\/p>\n
Hargrove was previously arrested and charged with criminal mischief stemming from an incident on Mohawk Avenue, which is nearby Ottawa Avenue. That incident involved a reported burglary of a garage where the arrest report said she was seen on video breaking into a garage.<\/p>\n
Louisville Fire Department said the incident is under investigation as a suspected arson case.
