Kevontez L. Nixon, 20, Kevontae Bowman, 18, Tom\u2019viohn Townsend, 22, and Jordan Townsend, 19, were apprehended on August 13, during the execution of a search warrant at a residence on the 2000 block of Hale Avenue.<\/p>\n
All four face numerous felony charges, including engaging in organized crime, second-degree burglary, theft of multiple motor vehicles, and possession of burglary tools.<\/p>\n
According to police citations for three of the suspects, the investigation began after a burglary June 28, in the 3300 block of Haddon Road. Detectives allege that suspects unlawfully entered a vehicle parked in the home\u2019s driveway and used a garage door opener to access the attached garage. Once inside, they stole the keys to three vehicles parked outside: a Nissan Rogue, a Toyota Highlander, and a Honda Civic.<\/p>\n
When Louisville Metro Police officers later recovered the stolen Nissan Rogue and executed a search warrant on it, they discovered stolen property linked to several other vehicle break-ins across Louisville.<\/p>\n
On August 13, police executed a search warrant at the Hale Avenue residence. Inside, officers recovered a crossbow stolen from the Haddon Road burglary.<\/p>\n
Burglary tools were also located in the suspects\u2019 bedrooms.<\/p>\n
During taped interviews with detectives, both Nixon and Bowman admitted to their involvement in the burglaries and the auto thefts. Each implicated the other in additional vehicle thefts.<\/p>\n
All defendants were arraigned in court Friday, August 14.<\/p>\n
Kevontez L. Nixon was charged with 13 counts, including second-degree burglary, five counts of theft by unlawful taking (auto), engaging in organized crime (criminal syndicate), and possession of burglary tools. His bond was set at $25,000 and home incarceration if posted.<\/p>\n
Kevontae Bowman faces 13 counts, including second-degree burglary, five counts of theft by unlawful taking (auto), engaging in organized crime, and multiple counts of possession of burglary tools. His bond was set at $10,000 and home incarceration if posted.<\/p>\n
Tom\u2019viohn Townsend was charged with 15 counts, including engaging in organized crime, second-degree burglary, five counts of theft by unlawful taking (auto), possession of burglary tools, and two counts of being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun. His bond was set at $50,000 and home incarceration if posted.<\/p>\n
Jordan Townsend has been booked on charges including engaging in organized crime and theft by unlawful taking (auto). Official court papers with arraignment info are not yet available for him. His bond was set at $10,000 and home incarceration if posted.<\/p>\n
All are due back in court at 9 a.m. Monday, August 24.
