\nA woman was arrested after investigators said she intentionally set a fire that damaged two apartments in Louisville on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n
Louisville Fire Department crews were called to the 2000 block of Terril Lane around 6:28 a.m. Firefighters arrived about 13 minutes later and found heavy flames coming from a first-floor patio and second-floor deck of an occupied apartment building.<\/p>\n
Crews quickly attacked the fire and brought it under control within minutes. According to Louisville Fire Department, firefighters prevented the flames from spreading into the attic, which could have caused significantly more damage to the building.<\/p>\n
The fire was contained to the exterior patio and deck areas, but two apartment units sustained extensive damage.<\/p>\n
No residents or firefighters were injured. Three people were displaced and received assistance with relocation.<\/p>\n
Investigators with the Louisville Fire Department Metro Arson Bureau determined the fire was intentionally set. Saniya Williams was arrested and charged with first-degree arson and first-degree wanton endangerment. According to Louisville Fire Department, Williams admitted during the investigation to setting the fire.<\/p>\n
The apartment building was occupied when the fire started.
