\nTwo people were killed and another was critically injured after a pickup truck crashed and became wedged underneath a box truck on Poplar Level Road in Louisville Monday evening.<\/p>\n

Louisville Metro Police responded to the crash around 6:15 p.m. in the 4500 block of Poplar Level Road near Bishop Lane and Tile Factory Lane.<\/p>\n
According to preliminary investigation, police said a red pickup truck was traveling north on Poplar Level Road at a \u201chigh rate of speed\u201d when it entered the intersection and hit a commercial box truck that was making a left turn.<\/p>\n
The pickup went underneath the box truck. Fern Creek firefighters had to help remove the people from the pickup.<\/p>\n
One passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger was taken to UofL Hospital, where he died a short time later.<\/p>\n
The driver of the pickup was also taken to UofL Hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
Two men were inside the box truck. Neither reported any injuries.<\/p>\n
Police said they received a report of a reckless driver in a red pickup truck on Poplar Level Road just minutes before the crash. Investigators believe it was the same pickup involved in the collision.<\/p>\n
The investigation is ongoing.
