Louisville Metro Police arrested 56 year-old Roy Melead Friday at his home on Algonquin Parkway in connection with the September 15 incident.<\/p>\n
According to an arrest citation, Melead was arguing with his ex-partner when she began backing her vehicle down the street. Police said the woman saw Melead holding a handgun before he allegedly fired toward her vehicle.<\/p>\n
While the shot missed the vehicle, investigators said the bullet passed through the window of a neighbor\u2019s home across the street and lodged into a wall, causing over $500 in damage.<\/p>\n
Court records show Melead is a convicted felon with multiple prior felony cases dating back to 2007, legally barring him from possessing firearms.<\/p>\n
Melead is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment (discharge of a firearm), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and first-degree criminal mischief.<\/p>\n
A judge set Melead\u2019s bond at $100,000 cash during his arraignment Saturday. If he posts bond, he will be placed on home incarceration.<\/p>\n
His next court hearing is scheduled for October 5.
