\nA man was arrested early Saturday morning after police say he threatened to kill a woman, went searching for her with his vehicle, then fled police after an attempt to box him in before crashing.<\/p>\n

Dewayne Anderson, 46, is charged with first degree criminal mischief, first degree terroristic threatening, first degree fleeing or evading police, and second degree wanton endangerment (police officer), according to court documents.<\/p>\n
He is also charged with violation of conditions of release, per his arrest citation.<\/p>\n
Around 12:45 a.m., Louisville Metro Police officers responded to a residence in the Okolona neighborhood. Officers were told to hurry by the victim, with police saying she told them that Anderson was armed and had threatened to kill her via text message.<\/p>\n
Police say the victim told them that Anderson was looking for her after she had fled the residence, and that she believed Anderson had fired a warning shot at her.<\/p>\n
According to court documents, officers located Anderson driving down the road where the residence is located, with two separate officers attempting to stop him by pulling in front of him and partially exiting their vehicles to block the road.<\/p>\n
Anderson is then alleged to have driven towards them and continued to gain speed, nearly striking the lead officer\u2019s vehicle. On top of being partially out of his vehicle, this officer also had Anderson at gunpoint when he drove towards his vehicle, according to police.<\/p>\n
According to his arrest citation, Anderson allegedly then drove through multiple yards and past at least three police cars with lights and sirens activated. Police say he fled the neighborhood at a high rate of speed, until he failed to navigate a curve in the road after roughly three-quarters of a mile away.<\/p>\n
Anderson allegedly hit two separate vehicles, causing damage in excess of $1,000. <\/p>\n
After the incident, police say they located two firearms in Anderson\u2019s vehicle, one being a handgun and the other a rifle. According to arrest records, the handgun had one in the chamber and rounds in the magazine, while the rifle was one round shy of a full magazine.<\/p>\n
According to his arrest citation, Anderson had four active warrants and numerous priors, including a no-gun order. Police say Anderson admitted to fleeing, being armed and having prior cases, but was unaware of the no-gun order.<\/p>\n
Police also noted that all division officers were very familiar with the address, as well as previous threats of violence involving the use of firearms.<\/p>\n
Anderson is currently being held at Louisville Metro Department of Corrections. He is expected in court for his arraignment on October 5.
