Magistrates discussed several items during the regular meeting of Meade County Fiscal Court Tuesday (10\/13) evening.<\/p>\n At the beginning of the meeting, Judge Executive Troy Kok, and E911 Director Jeremy Miller recognized Mark Ratcliffe for his accomplishments and team spirit as a GIS Specialist and Information Technology Technician for the county. Among the highlighted\u00a0 accomplishments, Ratcliffe developed an active map of flooded road closures that was used by first responders, dispatchers, media, and the National Weather Service. He also is credited with automating several tasks into the county’s addressing map layers that increase efficiency of data entry.\u00a0 Mark Goss, representative of the Kentucky Homeland Security and 911 Services Board, also recognized his accomplishments and asked Ratcliffe to serve as a GIS Mentor in a newly established 911 Services Mentorship program, which will allow networking, guidance, and training with other GIS specialists across the state.<\/span><\/p>\n The court set Trick or Treat hours from 5:30 until 8 pm on Saturday, October 31 in the county.\u00a0 They also the tax rates from the Lincoln Trail Health Department which kept tax rates the same as previous years. The court also approved the proclamation designating October 11 through 17 as Meade County Homemakers week.<\/span><\/p>\n Brett Pyles, General Manager of Meade County Water District addressed magistrates about the possibility of working with the county leaders to develop a cost sharing project to install an automated water vending machine. Pyle said he needed to work through the costs further but the project could cost up to $100,000. Leaders are looking into the location and needs for the vending unit to learn what the actual cost would be.<\/span><\/p>\n Magistrates approved the health insurance rates for the 2027 enrollment. They also approved estimates for road improvements to Creek View Court. The estimate for gravel is $21,120 and $9,178 for chip and seal. The residents will decide which they want to use to make the improvements.<\/span><\/p>\n The court opened and approved the only bid received for a vehicle lift for the new county road garage. The bid from SLE Technologies was in the amount of $66,611.81 for a four post lift rated at 30,000 pounds. The device will allow dump trucks and trucks to be lifted for maintenance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The court approved to seek bids for a new salt shed to be built at the new county road garage.<\/span><\/p>\n The court approved the first reading of an amendment to the animal control ordinance. They also approved a resolution to ingest all of the roads in Otter Creek Park into the county road maintenance system.<\/span><\/p>\n
