Louisville Metro Police Department said officers were called to a crash in the eastbound lanes of I-264 Saturday, October 24, at about 2:50 a.m. near mile marker 3.5.<\/p>\n
Louisville Metro Police Department’s initial investigation shows a Mercedes was speeding in the eastbound lanes when for some unknown reason the man lost control and rear-ended a Toyota RAV4 that was headed the same direction.<\/p>\n
The Mercedes then rolled over several times and the Toyota lost control before hitting a guardrail then a commercial tractor-trailer, according to police.<\/p>\n
Investigators said the driver of the tractor-trailer stopped and didn’t report any injuries.<\/p>\n
Both the driver of the Mercedes and the driver of the Toyota, a woman, were transported to the hospital. The man was expected to survive and the woman had serious injuries, according to Louisville Metro Police Department.<\/p>\n
Police said the woman died Thursday afternoon.
