Rontrail Taylor, 18, was arrested after Louisville Metro Police say he caused a four-vehicle crash on Cane Run Road near Crums Lane around 5:45 p.m.<\/p>\n
According to an arrest citation, a Louisville Metro Police officer saw a silver Hyundai drive past him at a high rate of speed. <\/p>\n
The Hyundai driver, identified as Taylor, was then seen swerving to miss another vehicle but overcorrected and went into oncoming traffic, hitting three other cars.<\/p>\n
As the officer went to check on everyone involved in the crash, the citation said Taylor jumped to the back seat, got out of the car, and fled from police.<\/p>\n
The citation said Taylor led officers on a brief chase through parking lots and lanes of traffic on Cane Run Road. Police were able to eventually arrest him near Ronald Court.<\/p>\n
While on the scene, a witness told police that Taylor threw a gun in a nearby business\u2019 parking lot. Officers went back to the location and found a handgun with an extended magazine. The gun had one round loaded in the chamber, according to the citation.<\/p>\n
When officers reviewed the business\u2019 surveillance cameras, they saw Taylor toss the gun.<\/p>\n
The citation said the Hyundai that Taylor was driving had also been reported stolen on October 24.<\/p>\n
Four people in the other vehicles involved in the crash were treated at the scene for minor injuries. Taylor was transported to UofL Hospital after complaining of leg pain.<\/p>\n
According to the citation, while Taylor was in the hospital, he threatened to throw urine on the officer who was sitting with him. He then threw urine against the neighboring unit, which splashed on another patient at the hospital.<\/p>\n
Taylor is charged with reckless driving, no operator\u2019s license, leaving the scene of an accident, fleeing or evading police, tampering with physical evidence, carrying a concealed weapon, fourth-degree assault, and four counts of wanton endangerment.<\/p>\n
During his arraignment Friday morning, the judge reminded Taylor of the severity of his charges, noting he is charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors.<\/p>\n
The judge set his bond at $10,000 cash. If posted, he will be put on home incarceration.<\/p>\n
Taylor is expected back in court on November 9.
