\nA northern Indiana woman was charged with murder in the death of a man critically injured when she allegedly crashed a stolen vehicle while fleeing from police in Louisville\u2019s California neighborhood.<\/p>\n

The Louisville Metro Police Department said officers attempted to stop 23 year-old JHonna\u2019Kaye Parra, of Cromwell, Indiana, at 11:03 a.m. on October 27 near South 24th Street and Garland Avenue.<\/p>\n
According to an arrest citation, the vehicle Parra was driving had been reported stolen from Peru, Indiana. Police said Parra didn\u2019t stop and drove away eastbound on Garland Avenue.<\/p>\n
When she approached the intersection of Dr. W. J. Hodge and Garland streets, police said she drove into the opposite lane to pass a vehicle stopped at a red light, hitting another vehicle that had the green light in the intersection.<\/p>\n
Police said the crash rotated the vehicle counter-clockwise, and a man was ejected into the street. The vehicle went through a chain-link fence and rolled over, coming to a stop in the parking lot of Brown Forman.<\/p>\n
The man who was ejected from the vehicle was taken to the hospital in critical condition. According to Parra\u2019s arrest citation, he died October 29. His identity hasn\u2019t been released by the Jefferson County Coroner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
Parra and a female passenger were taken to UofL Hospital for their injuries. Two other people in the vehicle were treated and released.<\/p>\n
Police said the crash caused $500 in damage to the chain-link fence and $500 in damage to private property. Both the stolen vehicle and the vehicle it crashed into in the intersection were totaled. Police said each vehicle was valued over $10,000.<\/p>\n
Parra was released from the hospital and arrested on charges of murder, three counts of assault, receiving stolen property, fleeing or evading police and three counts of criminal mischief. In court for her arraignment Tuesday morning, she pleaded not guilty and Judge Amber Wolf set her bond at $500,000 cash. Parra is due back in court next week for a hearing.
