\nA two vehicle accident Tuesday (6\/14) evening in Meade County claimed the life of a Harned man and injured a Irvington man after two vehicles collided at the intersection of US 60 and Stringtown Road.<\/p>\n

According to Kentucky State Police, the accident happened around 5 pm, when a 2008 Ford F350 driven by 53 year-old Delmer Curry of Irvington was traveling west on US 60 and attempted to make a left turn onto Stringtown Road. Curry’s truck turned into the path of a eastbound 2004 Mazda 6 driven by 41 year-old Boyd Bryan III of Harned. The vehicles collided nearly head-on. Curry was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown by Meade County EMS, where he was treated and later released. Bryan was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police do not believe that alcohol was factor. <\/p>\n
Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene several hours into the night by the Ekron and Meade County Fire Departments, Meade County EMS and the Meade County EMS, Meade County Sheriff’s Department and the Irvington Police Department.<\/p>\n
US 60 re-opened around 10 pm as the accident crews finished the preliminary investigation. The accident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
