Nava Williams, 19, was arrested on Wednesday after she bought items at a local Walgreen’s and then attempted to return them.<\/p>\n
Williams used a fake $100 bill at the Walgreens at 3980 Dixie Highway early on in the day to make her purchases. Walgreens called the police when Williams returned to the store with her friend several hours later. Her friend attempted to return Williams purchases in order to get the money back.<\/p>\n
When police arrived, the friend of Williams spoke to officers, denying any knowledge of how the items were purchased and was let go.<\/p>\n
Police watched as Williams picked up the friend at a nearby convenience store and then stopped the car Williams was driving. When the police confronted Williams about the counterfeit money and she admitted to using it. Police also found six more fake $100 bills on Williams.<\/p>\n
Williams was taken to Louisville Metro Department of Corrections and charged with criminal possession of forged instrument as well as several other charges from previous arrests. Williams is scheduled to be in court on August 1.
