Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said due to the high temperatures, it would take longer than usual for the asphalt pavement to cool and for the roadway to be reopened to traffic.<\/p>\n<p>Drivers were detoured by exiting from KY 841E to National Turnpike (Exit 8) and traveled north to the Outer Loop.
