The first accident happened around 4pm on Sunday (8\/7) at the intersection of US 60 and Fort Avenue, when a 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage driven by 18 year-old Brianna Ashbaugh of Ekron pulled from Fort Avenue into the path of a 2000 Chevrolet S10 pickup driven by 21 year-old Matthew Lucas of Hudson, who was traveling east on US 60. Ashbaugh was airlifted from the scene to University of Louisville Hospital and Lucas was taken to Meade County EMS to University of Louisville Hospital for their injuries. The Flaherty Fire Department assisted the Meade County Sheriff’s Department at the scene.<\/p>\n
A second accident happened around 4 am Wednesday (8\/10) along US 60 near Guston, when a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by 40 year-old Fred Lacefield of Guston came to a sudden stop and a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado Driven by 18 year-old Byron Flood of Hardinsburg was following Lacefield and was able to stop and struck the rear of Lacefield’s car. Lacefield was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital to be checked for injuries by Meade County EMS. The Ekron Fire Department assisted the Meade County Sheriff’s Department at the scene.<\/p>\n
