A safety recall for some 2013 to 2015 Ford and Lincoln vehicles addresses issues with fuel pump control modules.<\/p>\n
The modules could fail in the affected vehicles, causing the engine to stall during driving without the ability to restart.<\/p>\n
Ford said it was not aware of injuries associated with this issue.<\/p>\n
About 88,151 vehicles worldwide are affected, including:
\n2013 to 2015 Ford Taurus with 3.5-liter gasoline turbocharged direct injection engine built at the Chicago Assembly Plant, August 25, 2011 to May 31, 2015
\n2013 to 2015 Ford Flex with 3.5-liter gasoline turbocharged direct injection engine built at the Oakville Assembly Plant, September 12, 2011 to May 29, 2015
\n2013 to 2015 Lincoln MKS with 3.5-liter gasoline turbocharged direct injection engine built at the Chicago Assembly Plant, August 31, 2011 to May 31, 2015
\n2013 to 2015 Lincoln MKT with 3.5-liter gasoline turbocharged direct injection engine built at the Oakville Assembly Plant, September 12, 2011 to May 29, 2015
\n2013 to 2015 Ford Police Interceptor sedan, all engines, built at the Chicago Assembly Plant, September 8, 2011 to May 31, 2015.<\/p>\n
Ford said dealers will inspect and replace the part if needed at no cost.<\/p>\n
A second safety recall affects fuel injection pumps on about 2,500 2015 to 2016 Ford Transit vehicles.<\/p>\n
The recall will address an issue that could cause the pump to malfunction, preventing the engine from starting or causing the vehicle to stall without the ability to restart.<\/p>\n
Affected vehicles include 2015-16 Ford Transit 3.2-liter diesel-equipped vehicles built at the Kansas City Assembly Plant, July 15, 2015 to April 14, 2016. <\/p>\n
Dealers will inspect the parts for metallic contamination and replace the parts if needed at no cost.<\/p>\n
The third safety compliance recall, which involves about 23,000 2017 Ford Escapes, will update the vehicles’ power window software, because the system configuration may “exceed the regulatory requirement for remote actuation closing force, increasing the risk of injury,” Ford said.<\/p>\n
No injuries have been associated with this issue.<\/p>\n
The affected vehicles were built at the Louisville Assembly Plant, October 5, 2015 to May 12, 2016, the company noted.
