\nA branch of The Cecilian Bank, located at 2920 Ring Road in Elizabethtown, was robbed Thursday afternoon at gunpoint, according to bank officials.<\/p>\n

A male wearing a cowboy hat, sunglasses and carrying a handgun robbed the bank at around 2:06 p.m. of an undisclosed amount of money and then fled the area on foot headed east toward US 62. He is described as being 5\u201910\u2019\u2019 to 6\u2019 in height and average weight.<\/p>\n

The suspect entered the bank through the front door. He walked up to a teller, displayed a gun and told her to \u201cplace the money in a bag\u201d that he provided. The suspect left the business going out the same door he came in.<\/p>\n

All employees and customers at the bank at the time of the robbery are safe, according to officials. <\/p>\n

Anyone who may have seen this man entering or leaving the bank is encouraged to call the Elizabethtown Police Department at 270-765-4125.<\/p>\n

The bank closed for the rest of Thursday and will re-open Friday morning.
