\nThe University of Louisville Foundation has accepted the resignation of James Ramsey as its president, less than two months after his departure as university president.<\/p>\n

News media reported Friday that the foundation’s chairman, Bob Hughes, also stepped down, and four new members and one current member were appointed to the 15-seat board.<\/p>\n
Hughes remains on the board. The foundation directors chose Brucie Moore as its new chairperson.<\/p>\n
Moore said she supports a “forensic accounting” of the foundation to be overseen jointly with the university board of trustees.<\/p>\n
The UofL trustees voted last week to authorize the board chairman to sue the foundation for not providing records detailing spending under Ramsey. Moore said Friday she hoped the foundation has averted the lawsuit.<\/p>\n
Trustees Chairman Larry Benz said he believes the risk of a lawsuit no longer exists.
