Elizabethtown Police Department spokesman Virgil Willoughby said police were called to the store at 7:47 p.m. He said two black males wearing black hoodies entered the store and left with an undisclosed amount of money.<\/p>\n
He said one of the men had a black handgun during the robbery.<\/p>\n
After receiving money from a store employee, the men fled the store and left the plaza in a vehicle.<\/p>\n
Hibbett Sports is the second store in the plaza to be robbed in the last year.<\/p>\n
Last October 27, three men robbed Dollar Tree \u2013 next to Hibbett Sports \u2013 of $1,300 as well as taking debit cards, cash, a phone and keys from employees. The men were caught and convicted of the robbery in May.<\/p>\n
First-degree robbery is a Class B felony punishable by 10 to 20 years in prison, if convicted.
