South Central Bancshares, the parent corporation of South Central Bank, announced its plan to purchase Kentucky National Bancorp Inc. in July, pending regulatory approval. As of Thursday, the purchase had been completed.<\/p>\n
Kentucky Neighborhood Bank President and CEO Ronnie Pence said the identity of local Kentucky Neighborhood Bank branches will transition to South Central Bank in early 2017.<\/p>\n
Pence said the Ring Road South Central office will be renovated in the next few months and will merge the Kentucky Neighborhood branch that is currently in the Kroger Center into that one once it is completed.<\/p>\n
Completion of the transaction will not change the bank\u2019s community focus, according to Ruthie Bale, chairwoman of South Central Bancshares.<\/p>\n
The addition of the Kentucky Neighborhood Band brings the combined assets of South Central to $1.06 billion.<\/p>\n
Pence will remain in Hardin County as South Central market president for the county, Louisville and Lexington. Pence said this merge is different from many others because there will be no jobs lost or disruptions of services. There have been three employees hired since the announcement of the merge and more hires likely will occur. The three hires were one loan officer and two loan processors. The main Kentucky Neighborhood Bank location on Dixie Avenue in Elizabethtown will be a processing hub for South Central.<\/p>\n
Pence said customers will see the same faces when they bank in person.<\/p>\n
Details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
