\nA few reports of clowns have surfaced in the local area within the past week.<\/p>\n

In Meade County, two reports of clowns along Garrett Road have been received in the past week, but no offenses have been reported to police, other than the clowns were standing along the road watching or staring at passing traffic. In Breckinridge County, several sightings have been reported around the Cloverport area. Other reports in the region over the past couple of months include, Hardin, Bullitt, Daviess, and Warren counties.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the clowns are unknown and are a childish nuisance to most people, the sightings area are believed to part of a internet craze that has went viral within past few months. Most of the instances are “copy cat” stunts to gain attention. Police warn those who participate in the craze, not to trespass on private or public property or cause a hazard to the motoring public. If those actions are observed or if a clown acts in a violent way toward the public, they could face charges related to the offense committed by the clown.<\/p>\n
