Police are investigating the stabbing of a Brandenburg man over the weekend. According to Jason Graham, Chief Deputy of the Meade County Sheriff’s Department, said that the stabbing happened around 7:30 Saturday night at a residence at 259 Seminole Trail.
Brian Adams, 42 of Brandenburg went to the residence to pick up his juvenile daughter from his estranged wife, who was not at home at the time of his arrival. When his estranged wife, 41 year-old Clorisa Adams and their daughter arrived, they were being driven by a male subject.
According to witnesses at the scene, the man identified as 44 year-old Brian Evans of New Albany, Indiana exited the car and began to hit Adams with his fists. During the confrontation, Evans stabbed Adams in the abdomen with his pocket knife.
The assault ended and 911 was called, resulting in Brian Adams being airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.
Clorisa Adams was placed under arrest for menacing, and disorderly conduct, and endangering the welfare of a minor. Brian Evans was placed under arrest for wanton endangerment, driving under the influence and possession of open alcohol container. Both were lodged in the Meade County Detention Center.
The assault case will be presented before the Grand Jury for possible charges.
