A single vehicle accident sent two people to the hospital after their vehicle overturned. According to the Brandenburg Police Department, the accident happened around 8 am Saturday in the 2700 block of the Bypass in Brandenburg.
A southbound 1996 Ford Aspire driven by 23 year-old Charles Skaggs of Brandenburg, when a vehicle pulled out from a driveway into his path causing Skaggs to over correct his steering and caused the car to overturn. Skaggs and his passenger 21 year-old Bobbi Pendleton of Brandenburg were taken to University of Louisville Hospital by Meade County EMS and Air Methods Air Ambulance for their injuries.
Hospital medical staff discovered a bag of suspect marijuana from Skaggs’ pants pocket as they checked for identification.
The investigation remains ongoing in the case.
