
Members of Meade County Fiscal Court met during their regular monthly meeting Tuesday night. The court approved the proposed budgets and salary caps of the County Clerk and Sheriff.
Sheriff William “Butch” Kerrick said that there was an increase of 3.46 percent or $45,506. He also noted a $9,000 increase or 2.75 percent on the salary cap. Magistrates approved both items.
The court reviewed their calendars and set a date for a special called meeting followed by a work ssession on Wednesday, January 27 at 6 pm. The special meeting will be review the bids on a replacement oil tanker for the County Road Department. The following work session will be to discuss and work on the proposed abandoned property and nuisance ordinances.
The court approved contract renewals with Building Inspector Melvin Atcher, Electrical Inspector David Viers, and Information Technology Administrator.
The court approved the county holiday schedule which follows the state government holiday schedule.
