
The Brandenburg City Council met during their regular monthly meeting Monday(3/14) evening.
The council approved a resolution recognizing former City Clerk Molly Janes for her service and dedication to the city. The council discussed and approved four business licenses, and discussed one of the applications further that was related to a extreme sports entertainment. After the business owners answered the council questions the business license was approved.
City Clerk Amy Haynes reported to the council that 81 credit cards had been processed last month. Mayor Ronnie Joyner said that Crystal Adcock had been hired to fill the office vacant office position.
Police Chief Scotty Singleton reported that 183 sponsor packets had been sent out this year to gain funding support to for the Citizens On Patrol Program. The program reboot is beginning to increase volunteer hours and patrols around the city.
Public Works Director TJ Hughes reported that a couple more pieces of equipment is needed to be installed before the replacement siren at the corner of Broadway and Lake View Drive will be operational. He also reported that public work crews will be working in Riverfront Park replacing mulch on the playgrounds once the weather allows for the work to proceed.
Mayor Joiner reported to the council that the plans for the new sidewalk along High Street from City Hall to near the Bypass Road are being finalized and will allow the project to allow bids on the project.
