The Hardin County Board of Education named a new superintendent for the school district during a special called meeting Monday morning.
Teresa “Terrie” Morgan will replace Nannette Johnston, the Hardin County Schools superintendent for the last 10 years, when she retires at the end of June. Morgan is currently the Director of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction for Hardin County Schools.
Morgan is a 1989 graduate of Brescia College. She earned her Master’s of Education Degree from Western Kentucky University in 1994. She obtained her Principal Certification in 1997 and her Superintendent Certification in 2014 from WKU.
Morgan started her educational career in 1989 as a special education teacher at Vine Grove Elementary School. She became an intermediate grades teacher before she left Vine Grove Elementary School for a primary grades teaching position at Woodland Elementary School in 1997. In August of 2000, she was asked to be the school’s assistant principal. Three years later, she became the principal at Woodland and served in that capacity for eight years. She moved to her current position in October 2011. Morgan will assume her new position on July 1.
