
The Ekron City Commission discussed mowing bidd diring their regular monthly meeting Tuesday (5/3) evening.
Commissioners discussed progress on repairs to the city tractor in which needs to be moved to another site for evauation of repairs. Commissioners Kevin Bogard and Rob Wilkins said they would check on finding a truck and trailer to haul the tractor.
The commission further reviewd and discussed mowing bids for the city. after a brief discussion, commissioners voted to renew the contract with J&A Mowing for $125. They also approved a motion to pay Corey Trent to mow the lot near Derby Tank Car and spray weed killer and fill pot holes along the city streets atva price of $100.
Commissioner Corey Trent was absent during the meeting, but provided a written report that included several items including replacement of speed limit signs and he is working on a ordinance related to limbs and brush being placed on sidewalks. The commission could review and discuss the ordinance proposal at their next regular meeting.
Mayor Gwynn Ison reported the city clean up day went well except for some people who rummaged through the dumpster and caused more litter at the collection point. She said the scavengers made more of mess than trash that had been disposed of.
Mayor Ison thank all who participated during the cleanup day and encourages all residents to have pride in their community.
