Brandenburg became one of the final stops during the fall recess for Republican U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Bowling Green.
On Friday (9/9) afternoon, Paul met with a small group of supporters at the Meade County Public Library for what was advertised as a town hall meeting but was really a campaign stump to rally support. Paul took advantage of the energized room to make references about policy and decisions made by former presidential challenger Hillary Clinton and President Brack Obama’s administration. Paul’s remarks took aim at the ongoing Clinton email scandal along with lavish spending made in the Middle East to lack of funding of the military forces.
Paul brought the comments to the state as he bashed the Obama Administration policy on regulations of the coal industry and how it impacts Kentucky. During the visit Paul did field a few questions from the audience and take photos with constituents. The Brandenburg stop was just ahead of a appearance Saturday in Lexington.
