The Meade County Board of Education met during their regular monthly meeting Tuesday (10/11) night where they got a update on the construction project at the Area Technology Center.
Board members viewed photos that were explained by a representative of Sherman Carter Barnhart who are managing the renovation project. Crews have already cut the bank down up against the existing building and are close to pouring the footers for the new building. The interior of the existing building has already been prepared for construction crews on the half of the building next to the construction. Classes on that side of the building has already been temporarily placed in other locations on the high school campus. The board is to receive monthly updates as the project progresses.
In a related matter, the board approved the lowest bid of $54,496.00 for a wheel alignment system for the Area Technology Center from ProQuip Solutions. Board members also approved contracts with up to four additional mental and behavioral service providers for student counseling.
The Board approved field trips for the Meade County High School FFA, FBLA, and Band.
