The Ekron City Commission took action to resolve an ongoing traffic issue during their regular meeting Tuesday (5/2) night.
Ekron resident Brenda Brown requested a traffic flow change on West Alley Street to make it a one way street. She said that she had fence and property damage from cars attempting to pass each other on the narrow street. After several minutes of discussion, Commissioners voted to make West Alley a one way street with entry off of Hayesville Road. Currently the street has bidirectional traffic on section from Hayesville to Park Avenue. The changes will be made effective as soon as signage is purchased and can be installed.
In other business, commissioners discussed internet rates and the possibly of changing internet providers. After their evaluation on the issue, they voted to stay with the current provider and seek a rate adjustment to bring the monthly expense back inline to previous amounts.
The commission discussed a second cleanup day in June as weather and other factors hampered the use of the dumpster during the spring cleanup day.
