Voters in only one Meade County precinct will cast a ballot Tuesday (5/23) in a special election to decide to allow alcohol sales in that precinct.
According to Meade County Clerk Judy Jordan, the special election will be held only in the Guston voting precinct. She said the 827 registered voters will go to the typical poll place to answer the proposed question: “Are you in favor of the sale of alcoholic beverages in Guston (F105) precinct?”
Jordan said the polling location at Ekron Elementary School will be open the normal hours of 6 am until 6 pm Tuesday. Absentee voting continues until the close of business at 4:30 pm on Monday (5/22). Jordan said her office will be operating as normal on Tuesday. The special election comes at the request of Kevin and Rhonda Roberts, who operate Roberts Family Farm, between the communities of Ekron and Guston. They are seeking to open the possibility to be allowed to alcohol at special events.
Jordan said that the special election will cost Meade County taxpayers between four to five thousand dollars in expenses related to conduct the special election. For more information you contact the Meade County Clerks Office.
