
Fire Departments across the region collected $5,463,292.77 for the 64th annual Crusade For Children.
Across the three county area of Meade, Breckinridge, and Grayson counties, area fire departments raised a combined reported total of $164,662.63. Firemen manned various roadblocks and events to collect money for the event.
In Meade County Saturday (6/3), the 13th annual Crusade For Children Poker Run and Concert raised $5,019.04. About 50 motorcycles and over 200 others attended and participated in the annual event which set another record, more than doubled previous totals. The money from the event sponsored by Doe Federal Credit Union and WVIH.com was among the funds reported by the Payneville Fire Department.

The money raised during the annual telethon will be used to help children with special needs in the Kentucky and Southern Indiana area.
