A Breckinridge County Detention Center inmate who walked away from a work detail nearly two weeks ago has been re-captured.
According to the Breckinridge County Sheriff, 36-year-old Gregory McCrary of Leitchfield was taken into custody just before 11 am CDT Monday (07/31) morning along R. Whitfill Lane, north of Hardinsburg. Sheriff Todd Pate said they were alerted when a caller informed authorities that McCrary was looking for a ride.
McCrary was arrested without incident and returned to the detention center, facing additional charges of escape and possession of a controlled substance. McCrary walked away from a work detail in Custer back on July 19th while serving a sentence for receiving stolen property and parole violation.
