
The newest 41 graduates of the Kentucky State Police Academy have received their diplomas and are ready for their first assignments.
Graduates of Class 484 of the Department of Justice and Criminal Training at Eastern Kentucky University completed more than 500 hours of classroom and field study in subjects such as constitutional law, juvenile and traffic law, use of force, weapons training, defensive tactics, criminal investigations, high speed vehicle pursuit and first aid.
Officer Timothy Childs of the Muldraugh Police Department was also recognized with the honor of Outstanding Performance Award for Physical Fitness. Childs will work with Police Chief Dale Harp on routine patrols and details as necessary at they work to realign schedules.
Officer Daniel Holbert of Vine Grove Police Department completed required training will begun patrols in the coming weeks with his department.
Both men graduated Friday (8/11) in Richmond.
