Emergency crews In Breckinridge County responded to a report of accident involving a tractor and an ATV Saturday (8/26) evening in the 14,000 block of Highway 690.
The Custer Fire Department and Breck Central EMS responded to the scene around 5:50 pm CDT, where they found 59 year-old Joseph Matthews of Custer was traveling east on a tractor. The eastbound atv driven by 60 year-old David Arnold of Custer rear-ended the tractor carrying a round bale of hay and then went into a ditch.
Arnold and his passenger, 60 year-old Carol Summers of Caneyville was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown for non life threatening injuries. The Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department was on the scene as the roadway was closed about a half hour. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
