This past weekend, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a warrant round-up. The round-up, coined “Operation GC Storm” netted 20 criminal arrests and summonses.
Approximately 110 attempts on warrants and criminal summonses were made in the span of about five hours.
The arrests and summonses included flagrant non support, trafficking in controlled substances, assault, failure to pay fines, cold checks, and other misdemeanor even felony indictment warrants.
In one arrest attempt, a suspect fled from officers on foot, but was quickly apprehended where he was found to be in possession of meth. A subsequent search warrant at the man’s residence led to the confiscation of approximately 2 pounds of processed marijuana as well as multiple guns and drug paraphernalia.
In a statement released Monday (09/25), Sheriff Norman Chaffins says the plan is to have at least two round-ups every year.
