A man suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound early Sunday (10/1) morning on Skyline Drive in Elizabethtown, according to Elizabethtown Police Department.
Police responded to Wesley Hilltop House around 2 am to a report of shots fired at a “large gathering.” The victim was found at the organization’s location, which is a nonprofit community center for senior citizens. Police spokesman John Thomas said he was unaware if the gathering was sanctioned by Wesley Hilltop House. The man was taken to University Hospital in Louisville for a wound to an ankle. No other injuries were reported.
Gunfire appeared to also hit three unoccupied vehicles. Police are in the early stages of investigating. They have not identified a suspect or motive. Police are asking for witnesses or others with knowledge of the shooting to call them at 270-765-4125.
