Kentucky State Police say sheriff’s deputies killed a murder suspect who had shot at them.
State Police Trooper Lloyd Cochran said in a statement that 57 year-old Paul E. Dolen of Monticello had two handguns and a rifle when he was shot by Wayne County deputies on Friday (10/13) night. Detectives believe Dolen had fatally shot his wife, 55 year-old Sandra D. Dolen, and a cousin, 62 year-old Russell F. Dolen.
Deputies located Paul Dolen in a barn on the family property. The statement says after Dolen shot at the deputies, they returned fire, killing him. The three bodies were taken to a medical examiner for autopsies.
Cochran said the deputies were not injured.
