Police arrested an Elizabethtown man Sunday on an outstanding warrant and charged him with second-degree rape.
According to the arrest warrant, Kendall Maurice Nichols, then 19, had sex at least twice with a 13 year-old girl. The first incident took place in the summer of 2016 at an unknown location and the second happened on or around October 1, 2016, at the victim’s residence, according to the warrant. The warrant says the juvenile told Nichols she was 13.
Nichols also faces contempt of court and nonpayment of fines charges. He is being held in the Hardin County Detention Center in lieu of a $10,000 cash bond for the rape charge and a $1,000 cash bond for the contempt of court charge.
