Former LaRue County High School Principal Kyle Goodlett’s trial on more than 60 state charges has been placed on hold.
Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Teresa Logsdon said no new trial date has been scheduled. Goodlett, 37, has negotiated a plea deal on two federal charges. He is scheduled to be sentenced November 9 on one count of transportation of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
Stephanie Collins, a spokesman for U.S. District Court in Louisville, said Friday an order entered by the court Thursday stated that “additional time to consider whether to accept the parties’ (plea agreement)” was needed. Goodlett entered a guilty plea to the federal charges August 15 in U.S. District Court.
Goodlett, who was in his fourth year as principal when he was arrested October 16, 2016, is being sued by eight former LaRue County High School students in federal court. The former students also are suing the LaRue County Schools district.
