Breckinridge County emergency units were called to a report of gas leak on the courthouse square in Hardinsburg early Wednesday (10/25) morning.
The Hardinsburg Fire and Police Departments were called to the square off Main Street around 4:20 am CDT Wednesday morning after a vehicle reportedly struck a line behind the Courthouse. Main Street in front of the courthouse was closed for a short time as crews shut off the line, with Atmos Energy notified. The road was re-opened just before 5 am.
The Courthouse had to be emptied due to high levels of gas in the building. Breck Central EMS was called to scene for a dispatcher in the building at the time. Crews worked to air out the building and most offices were allowed to open on schedule Wednesday morning.
