A Grayson County man has been arrested on suspicion of cruelty to animals.
According to Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins, 56 year-old Greg Rigdon of Leitchfield is charged with cruelty 2nd degree. The charge stemmed from a complaint received by the county Animal Control Officer last week of animals in distress.
After a visit to the residence, the officer accompanied by a deputy returned to the property the following day, where four beagle pups were removed to the animal shelter, while a fifth dog who was near death was treated and is now in foster care.
Rigdon was lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center with other charges pending as an investigation is on-going.
