A two vehicle accident near Hardinsburg sent a Leitchfield man to the hospital Thursday (10/26) afternoon.
According to the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened around 3 pm CDT along US 60 at the drag strip. A 1996 Dodge Van pulling trailer with a race car, driven by 47 year-old Gary French of Leitchfield stopped to turn into the entrance to the drag strip. A 2011 Dodge pickup driven by 24 year-old Johnny Raymer of Hardinsburg did not see the stopped vehicle in time and struck the rear of the trailer.
Raymer and a passenger, 21 year-old Charles Wheatley of Hardinsburg, refused medical treatment. French was taken to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital by Breck Central EMS with non-life threatening injuries. Hardinsburg Police Department and Hardinsburg Fire & Rescue assisted at the scene.
