Kentucky State Police Detectives are investigating a hunting death that occurred in Breckinridge County Thursday (11/23) morning.
Approximately 11:15 am EST, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Officers requested Kentucky State Police assist with a shooting that had taken place while two men were deer hunting off of J.E. Haynes Road near Irvington. Christopher B. Stone, 43 of Irvington, was hunting with 39 year-old Nicholas Lee Ford of Brandenburg.
Stone discharged his rifle into an overgrown field surrounded by woods where Ford was standing striking him in the back. Ford was taken by Breck Central EMS to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the Breckinridge County Coroner.
The case remains under investigation.
