A suspect has been taken into custody in connection to threats made against two schools in the McDaniels area earlier this week.
Breckinridge County Sheriff Todd Pate said 29 year-old Amber Heflin was arrested in the Kirk community Wednesday (02/22) on charges of falsely reporting an incident. Heflin is accused of sending a text message to a counselor at Bethel Christian School allegedly implying a threat to that school and Ben Johnson Elementary. Both were evacuated Tuesday (02/20) as a precaution, but nothing was found.
Heflin was lodged in the Breckinridge County Detention Center.
