
Members of Meade County Fiscal Court took their meeting on the road Tuesday (5/8) night as they discussed business during their regular meeting.
County leaders met at the Payneville Fire Department and heard from a resident in the Meadowlark Subdivision regarding issues with tall grass and eye sore property. Judge Executive Gerry Lynn said Fiscal Court is working on developing a resolve to the ongoing issue and should have a upcoming work session on the topic within the next couple of months.
During the business session, the court approved Tina Stith as an appointment to the Payneville Fire Department board. Magistrates opened bids for road salt and approved the lowest bid of $82.17 per ton from Compass Mineral. They also opened bids on three replacement roof HVAC units at the jail. The lowest bid of $19,250 from Sheridan Mechanical was approved. The court approved the first reading of the proposed 2018-19 fiscal year budget and and document dissolving an solid waste agreement with a Jeffersonville, Indiana recycling hauler.
