
Voters in Meade County cast tbeir ballots creating a upset in at least one race.
The Republican primary for Meade County Sheriff was an upset of Incumbant William “Butch” Kerrick as former deputy and school resource officer Philip Wimpee won the Republican nomination. Wimpee will face off against Democrat Tim Hendley in the fall. Wimpee received 1,172 votes while Hendley received 1,477 votes for the Democratic nomination.
In the Fifth District Magistrate race one was difference between Democrat candidates Harold Davidson and Daniel Tyson Ford. Davidson had 221 votes while Ford received 222 votes.
Other winners include Nancy Tate for Republican 27th District Representative; and Hank Linderman Democrat for the 2nd District Us Congresssial District.
