
One person was killed and another seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ky. 220 and Deckard School Road, around 8:42 am Wednesday (12/4) according to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Department.
One of the three vehicles involved was a dump truck according to Hardin County Sheriff John Ward. A male driver of one of the vehicles was flown to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A female driver of another vehicle was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital and once stabilized, then airlifted to University Hospital, where she was listed in serious condition Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.
The driver of a third vehicle was uninjured. There were no passengers in any of the vehicles. The names of those involved in the crash that blocked traffic for a few hours as crash reconstruction was completed. Names of the victims involved are not being released pending contact with next of kin, according to Sheriff Ward.
The Hardin County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Kentucky State Police, Elizabethtown Police, Hardin County EMS, Rineyville Fire Department and the Radcliff Fire Department.
