
Brian Chism has filed candidacy papers Monday (1/6) to run as a Democrat in the 27th District State Representative race, which includes Meade County and part of northern Hardin County.
The 26 year-old Chism is a graduate of Meade County High School and comes from a family of public service. He is the son of Herbie Chism, a former Meade County Magistrate and grandson of Herbert W. Chism, who was Meade County Jailer for 16 years.
The seat currently is held by first-term Republican Nancy Tate.
